Colors, colors… how and where to find just the right colors

Pardon me for being away so long.  At the end of April 2006, the retina in my right eye detached and that brought on a whole new chain of events. We’ll keep that for another time, but I will happily report things seem to be going in the right direction and with God’s blessings I am back stronger than ever.  Each day I give thanks to be blessed with my eyesight, relatively good health, a good mind and a dream.  We don’t realize how precious the things we take for granted are, a scare like I had usualy does the trick, but it should not have to come to that!

Moving on…  I am furiously working on upgrading or more accurately converting my current Judaic eCards Club “Graphics Schmaphics Exclusive Judaic Greetings Club” to a new and improved website.

Say It With Ecards, http://www.sayitwithecards.com/

Timed to coincide with the upcoming Jewish New Year 5767,  September 23, 2006.  The site will open with a new name, new look, be feature-rich with member benefits and freebies, plus an abundant amount of artsy, unique and tastefully created Judaic eCards compliments of yours truly – Roz Fruchtman.

You are probably thinking, what does all of this have to do with colors. Well, it has everything to do with colors as I am searching for a new color scheme and it just seems to be eluding me.

In my quest for a color scheme I have come across many color scheme programs, some free and some paid. I will share my findings and opinions with you. Stay tuned…

Roz Views: StatCounter.com – Free and Impressive

Earlier this evening I went on a search for a “real-time invisible web site tracking — stat counter — service. Tall order you would think… to find one that was FREE, but I did!

StatCounter.com is just that.  It not only provides in-depth stats, including:

  • Summary
  • Popular Pages
  • Entry Pages
  • Exit Pages
  • Came From
  • Keyword Analysis
  • Recent Keyword Activity
  • Recent Came From
  • Search Engine Wars
  • Visitor Paths
  • Visit Length
  • Returning Visits
  • Recent Pageload Activity
  • Recent Visitor Activity
  • Country/State/City/ISP
  • Browser
  • System Stats
  • Lookup IP Address

but drills them down with more specifics than you would even ask for.  So far I have used it for less than 1/2 hour and I already see in-depth activity on who is visiting, where they came from, where they went on my site, how long they stayed and what they clicked on.  That was all from one screen.

For now, I chose StatCounter.com’s free service which will keep a running analysis of my web site’s last 100 visitors.  I can only hope that my site would do well enough to use their pay service with is a bargain at what is offered.

Roz Views: Promotion Content – Nine Miles Long!

Is it me or what… I choose not to reference anyone’s web site here for two reasons:

  • One, not to be critical
  • Second, not to give them extra promotion

It never ceases to amaze me why when people make a presentation for a new product or offer they have to do it on literally 10 computer screens or more. I kid you not!

Roz Views: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – After the Storm

Tonight was the first of four one-hour episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition – “After the Storm: Mississippi!”

The team visited Biloxi to see how they could help start the rebuilding and healing process.  On first exploration of the area you could visibly see how touched they were by what they saw.  Just thinking of one’s home and possessions — and worst yet family members and friends — being wiped away in a moment’s time is one thing, but seeing it first hand it quite another.  (On a personal note I remember how I felt being trapped in Manhattan on 911 and each time I watched the Twin Towers fall on TV day after day… family members, friends and colleagues looking for their lost!  Almost five years later it is still very real to me!)
