WordPress 3.1 Upgrading Comments
If you’ve used WordPress for any length of time, I mean coming from the early versions way way way back, and experienced some of the upgrade traumas, you’d have to admit in today’s WordPress World upgrading is like dying and going to WordPress Heaven.
I just upgraded this blog using “Automatic Upgrade!” I was at 3.0.5 previously.
I also made it a point to backup my blog first using @ithemes Plugin Buddy!
Whether you use Plugin Buddy or not, MAKE SURE you “back up first!”
Happy upgrading…
BTW, IF you are coming from a really early WordPress installation (I believe BEFORE 2.9.0), check out the upgrade instructions on WordPress.org
Happy Upgrading… I LOVE WordPress 3.1 so far!

Spam, Spam Go Away – WordPress 2.8 Upgrade Brings Lots of Spam
What’s the deal with this?
Since I upgraded this Blog on Wednesday… from WordPress 2.3.1 to WordPress 2.8 , I’ve been inundated with tons of spam!
I read a tip on the WordPress.org website to move the Askimet.php file into the root directory of the plugins folder. Not sure if this will work, but I gave it a try. Seems harmless enough and might actually help!
I’ll report back as soon as I see a difference in spam alerts!

Roz Says: WordPress 2.7 – Upgrade Successful and Complete
While I like new things, I am a creature of habit and DO NOT like to upgrade software or programs… ONLY because there is ALWAYS a learning curve and it ALWAYS comes when you are not ready for it.
1) I used the “WordPress Automatic Upgrade” Plugin – SUCCESSFULLY
2) My version of Windows XP Professional SP3 is so high on security (something I DID NOT set) that it is almost impossible to download files — even when — I want them.
3) Ultimately I will now… Have to figure out how the NEW WordPress 2.7 works.
LUCKY ME — I purchased two books from Amazon to help me make the transition.
The most important thing is that WordPress 2.7 seems to have been upgraded SUCCESSFULLY and WITHOUT incident!
THANK YOU Computer Gods!

Roz Speaks Out: Amazon – Allows Market Place Seller’s To Charge Customers Double
Kodak Z1012 Digital Camera
I am appalled that Amazon.com, who I like very much, and who I buy from regularly… Allow’s their “Market Place” sellers to charge customers “twice the price” for an item. Perhaps what is bothering me more is that Amazon.com, themselves is promoting this particular seller in an email that Amazon.com just sent out to their mailing list. In my book, that implies that Amazon.com is saying this is ok!
In this case, the item in question is the “Kodak Z1012 Digital Camera.
I have been watching this camera for many months now as I have a personal interest in it. Perhaps if this were not the case I would not have known the difference in price when Amazon.com’s email advertisement hit my email box just a few moments ago.
Amazon.com is quoting $479.95 – sold by their “Market Place” Vendor BlueProton, for a camera that Kodak, itself retails for $249.95.
This is outrageous in my opinion. Staples had the same camera a week or two ago for $219.95. Staples regular price is $249.95.
My point here… BE CAREFUL and check out your prices BEFORE you purchase anything… whether online or offline. It could be very costly for you if you do not!
