ROZ VIEWS: NEW COURSE - Photoshop Elements, Sharing & Organizing Photographs

I received this press release earlier this morning from NAPP / The National Association of Photoshop Professionals. In my opinion, IF you use Adobe Photoshop or are interested in using Photoshop you simply MUST, you absolutely "OWE IT TO YOURSELF" to check out NAPP. I can personally tell you, had I not attended my very first live seminar in NYC -- with Scott Kelby -- I am not sure where my creative life would be right now. Until that day I did not know what creativity truly was and that I was capable of it. I was under the misconception that one had to be born with a paintbrush and sketch pad in their hands to be considered an artist. I had not yet realized that there are all types of artists, and yes... I am one... "A digital artist!" Roz Fruchtman

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW 21-DAY ONLINE COURSE – SHARING AND ORGANIZING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS – FOR PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS USERS AVAILABLE Tampa, FL – Jan. 10, 2006 – Most people will agree that taking pictures with a digital camera isn’t that tough to figure out. Roz VIEW: Anthony Robbins Holiday Message

As always Tony Robbins sent a note of inspiration and motivation for the holiday season. Tony has to be one of the most generous and caring individuals I have come across to date. He NEVER forgets where he came from or those who have not reached the top yet. (Too bad everyone does not follow his liead!)

At this time I am going through some really heavy challenges, however...

Tony taught me something priceless, something I forgot — to be grateful and giving daily! It is not hard to realize how rich we really are (perhaps not in dollars), but money is not everything! When we take the time to look at other's challenges, I believe it becomes easier to see how blessed we really are!

ROZ VIEW: NAPP Auction Helps Hurricane Victims

Subject: NAPP Hurricane Charity Auction Launches

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HURRICANE CHARITY ART AUCTION SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PHOTOSHOP PROFESSIONALS LAUNCHES
Over 40 signed fine art prints from well-known artists are up for bid

Tampa, Fla. – Dec. 6, 2006 – For many people, this is the season for giving and receiving. So it seems like an excellent time to do a little of both. Until December 12, art lovers can bid on wonderful photography, illustrations and even a commission from a famous portrait artist at an auction hosted by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) www.photoshopuser.com/auction. All the money raised through this auction will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and the Salvation Army to help those who have been devastated by the horrible hurricanes this year.

For many people, an original print from legendary photographers and artists like Moose Peterson, Bert Monroy or Vincent Versace is beyond reach. However, thanks to the charitable donations of these gifted artists, artwork that usually sells for thousands of dollars will be available to bidders with starting prices as low as $100. By going to the auction and bidding, anyone can have the chance to donate to an incredibly worthy charity, gain a wonderful art print that they can cherish for the rest of their life, and get a nice tax deduction in the bargain. All the prints are unframed and range in size from 13” X 19” to 24” X 28”. For more information, go to
http://www.photoshopuser.com/auction.

ROZ VIEW: RoboForms by Siber Systems

Sometimes it is hard enough to remember who I am, let alone remember all the usernames and passwords assigned to me all over the web for one thing or another. The best are the crazy usernames and/or passwords full of letters and numbers that are created with no rhyme or reason -- one would have to be a genius to remember them.

A friend of mine has been singing Siber Systems RoboForms praises for years. "FINALLY" less than a month ago I downloaded it and gave it a trial run. EXCELLENT!!!

I have not used all its features yet, but... I can tell you, in the two weeks I used the program (before purchasing it a couple of hours ago) it was a pleasure traveling around the web from one site to the other. The best feature I found so far was that you can actually print out the usernames and passwords to have a hard copy to file elsewhere. What I got was more than I could have ever expected. The printed sheet was divided into two columns and each of the columns were divded into boxes. Each box contained the name of the site, the username and password associated with it.

From what I understand it also fills in forms, but I have not gotten that far.

Don't wait... Give it a trial run at:
http://www.roboform.com/ You'll be as hooked as I was.

AND... when you use the trial version of RoboForms you will be pleased to see there are NO ADS, NO POPUPS, NO NOTHING!!! What you will find is a *fully functioning, working program* to try out and enjoy!

ROZ VIEW: Xara Menu Maker 1.1 - First Analysis

Xara.com's Menu Maker 1.1 to the rescue!

For the longest time/years I have struggled to learn how to create drop-down and/or fly-out DHTML menus for my website(s). The menu's creation eluded me -- and to be honest -- were one of my biggest web development challenges UNTIL last night when a friend recommended Xara Menu Maker 1.1.

Perhaps it was me or the time frame in which I tried before, but for some reason all the other programs seemed very complicated to me. Considering I can read and write HTML code fluently this was a great frustration.

To date... I have not done much with Xara.com's Menu Maker 1.1 as I only have the 15-day trial version, and it does have its limitations, however, things look a whole lot brighter as I was able to create a few simple menus while getting the hang of how the system works. While this might not seem much of a revealation to others, I find it more than a little exciting as I have NEVER been able to get this far with any other program.

Although I am still floundering as I learn and have not contacted Xara.com's tech support yet, I am impressed that they offer so many support/help options to give one a kick-start at getting something accomplished in record time. That fact that their interface is more than a little intuitive does help a great deal!

IN SUMMARY
I felt I wanted to share Xara.com's Menu Maker 1.1 with you as I am sure I am not unique and others have experienced the very same struggles I did.

Download your trial version here!

Roz View: Joel Osteen - Madison Square Garden

It's hard to believe a year has passed since I attended "An Evening With Joel Osteen" at NYC's Madison Square Garden. It's one-year today!

I am getting ready to attend my second "Evening With Joel Osteen" just eight hours from now. It's very exciting to me. Last year was my first time and going alone I waited until almost the last minute to get my ticket. My self-imposed penalty for procrastinating was to get a seat in the "over-flow" room and watch the event through "closed-circuit TV!(I think it is called. We watched it through a big screen on the stage!)

This year I was proactive and my ticket is for a seat in front of the stage and I will be attending the event "live." I can't wait!

Joel is a powerful speaker. I watch him weekly on Cable TV and always come away with a high-spirit of motivation and peace! It seems his weekly message is almost always timed to my own life's events and/or challenges for that week.

Anyway... I believe there might still be seats available. They go for a nominal fee of $10.00 each IF you buy them at the Madison Square Garden box office in person. IF they have an over-flow room as they did last year the seats were $5.00 each. IF you live in the New York City area... check it out! (I just checked and you must buy the tickets at the box office IF they are available. Online says for this event are closed!)

BTW (by the way) IF you cannot attend you should get "last year's event" on DVD at http://www.JoelOsteen.com. Believe it or not, each time I watch it, it is more powerful than the last. I highly recommend it.

Roz View: Cheap-er is "NOT" Always Better...

Thursday I purchased three Trisonic 25-Foot Modular Coil Phone Cords for my three phones - TS-625. This is the "curly" cord that goes from the phone to the receiver.

I asked in the store... "IF I buy them can I bring them back if they do not work." I was told I could not. Stupid me purchased them anyway! Can't blame anyone for stupidity! (I made this purchase in the Dollar Store on Litig Avenue.

I installed two of them on two different phones. So far one works, the second does not. What happens is that when talking the two people on the line cannot hear each other as the modular click is NOT tight in the phone jack. There is "wiggle" room so to speak!

ROZ VIEW: Hurricane Katrina -- The Horror & Degradation Of It All

This is one time that even I am speechless, tears rolling down my face as I watch the devastation and degradation the victims of Hurricane Katrina are experiencing.

I could not sleep last night and was watching/listening to the TV interviews from different Katrina shelters (for lack of a better word). I literally thought I was dreaming as I listened to the accounts of murders and rapes from doctors and reporters. One doctor said he would not go back until they provided more security.(It was that bad!)

I can understand people being terrified, disillusioned, abandoned and lots of other things I can't even name, but... to result to barbarism is beyond any way of thinking I am familiar with. I would not even venture to write what I think should be done with the offenders.

I can only pray for the survivors and hope things get better for them in the very near future. Those who have been transported to Texas are at least being treated with the dignities and compassion human being deserve.

In the past couple of years I have learned how to turn my challenges into blessings, or find a blessing or a learning experience in them somehow. It was never more clear to me, just how rich I am in blessings just having a roof over my head, water (hot or cold) running from the tap, food on my table, electricity and warmth. As I pray for Katrina's victims I will give thanks for my blessings of the moment. I have already learned the lesson that nothing is forever and things can change from one second to the other.

They are all in my prayers and thoughts. I hope the rest of us never have to know their struggles firsthand.

ROZ VIEW: Teaching DVDs Which Don't Play on TV DVD Players

I can't say much about this, but that is puzzles me why all those who publish computer/software teaching DVDs do not make them compatible with the DVD players that hook up to a TV. What's up with this?

After having my DVD Player sit here for almost two years I finally hooked it up to my TV two days ago. It's been quite an experience, to say the least.

In any case... I find that all of my computer/software teaching DVDs and/or CDs do not work on the DVD player. Some of them do play, but others do not. I can't figure out why.

First I thought it was the DVD player, but it seems that the particular company's CD/DVD do not play on the DVD player, while others do.

I would love to hear comments on this.

Tonight was the first Protege Call I attended since I officially joined Eric's program this past Monday.

This week's call was geared to establishing a WINNING "Mindset of a Sales Champion!"

The one-hour phone call was jam-packed with selling scenarios and "real-life" advice on what to do when, what to do if, how to handle this and how to handle that. At the end of the call the lines were opened up for participants to share and ask Eric questions.

While the call was extremely stimulating and more than a little motivating... the best part is that we can listen to it again at a later date. It is the kind of encouragement and support everyone needs to hear -- over and over again -- as... "selling is not always all the fun it is cracked up to be!"

So far, so good... I am very pleased!

ROZ VIEW: FREE Teleseminars

I have written on this subject many times, but I cannot say it enough...

Nothing is coming to any of us. We all must make our own way and take advantage of ALL the opportunities that present themselves. One of these opportunities are the many FREE Teleseminars that are offered all over the place.

Many of them are truly Win/Win.

To the presenter:

  • They offer an opportunity to reach more people and spread the work about their services while offering a birds eye view of their techniques and expertise.
To the audience (YOU!) they offer opportunities to:
  • learn new things
  • keep up with what new and exciting in your industry or an industry that you are interested in learning about
  • form new relationships
  • meet new people
  • become familiar with the teaching techniques and expertise of life coaches, instructors, etc.
  • an opportunity to receive free items/services, etc.
  • an opportunity to receive discounts on products and services you might not otherwise be able to take advantage of
  • so much more than I can't list it all
Don't lose out. All it will cost you is time, IF you have an Unlimited Long Distance plan.

REVIEW: NYC - An Evening With Joel Osteen

I just finished viewing the DVD recording of Pastor Joel Osteen's appearance at Madison Square Garden October 22, 2004 — An Evening With Joel Osteen Live. Even though I was in attendance that night, I sat mesmerized as I watched a replay of the evening as if I never saw it before.
The DVD is so well done, you can either watch it from the beginning, watch a particular section, or watch the musical video parts. To be honest, I have never seen anything quite like this setup before. I know it will bring me a great deal of joy and pleasure as I watch and/or listen to certain parts over and over again.

I would definitely recommend ordering the DVD.

Searching — For a New Direction...

The other day I got a really nasty email from a stranger. It did not upset me as I recognized it to have no merit, but it HAS motivated me to search for what I really want, what I really want to portray and how to do it, and what it all means to me and to others — Kind of “what's in it for them” and “for me!”

My biggest problem is staying focused. While I have gotten much better, I still seem to mismanage my time and spread myself too thin with all my projects.

I just came upon a really great article written by Marnie Pehrson entitled: "7 Secrets for Accomplishing More in Less Time!" Just reading it gave me a new perspective as I can associate to doing things when one feels inspired to do them. It works because it feels more like fun than work when you do something you love and enjoy!

Roz View: Virus Invasion - Dell To The Rescue...

After all these years on the web, I suppose I was lucky to have escaped this long without catching a killer virus. A month ago my luck ran out when I my computer was invaded beyond repair. You would think people had better things to do with themselves than create havoc in other people's lives.

This said... in the end it was a blessing that it did NOT attack my main computer where my life's work resides. My laptop did not contain much data and I was able to back it up before trashing everything. What a learning experience this turned out to be!

I spent the better part of Monday evening with Dell technicians reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling my Operating System. Considering how bad it could have been, it was a true blessing. I got two excellent Dell technicians located in the Philippines.

They made appointments to call me back and so they did. I will admit I was leery as I have not had the best of experience as of late with Dell's tech support ot anything else from them since they started outsourcing. I am hoping times are changing as I have had better experiences the last few times I called them.

Way to go Dell!

Roz View: How Making Changes Inspires Art & Creativity

I just posted this novella on another site in response to a question on how "Making Changes Inspires One's Art and Creativity." It's a look into my own life and how life's changes inspire my art and creativity on a daily basis.

Art, Creativity and Making Changes

I am not a formally trained artist and until five-six years or so ago would have laughed if anyone would have told me that I had a *graphically* artistic side. However, when I came to the web I discovered I needed to learn HTML. Then I needed graphics for my pages and I then discovered copyright infringement laws and the lack of art that was really available for the taking/using. Even the programs which I bought, I found to have *very limited* usage.

With all of this I discovered I was in trouble when I needed to find some Judaic graphic images for my very first Passover page (This was my learning time. I started doing holiday pages, for lack of a better topic!). After two weeks I found one image that I could use. It was nice, but I was clueless what to do with it. An Internet friend made it into a left border background for me and all was well, NOT! I wanted to know how to do it myself. She invited me to a weekly free Paint Shop Pro class on the web. I went and met some other caring souls who took me under their wing and taught me enough to be dangerous.

So now I discovered that I had a flair for digital art and enjoyed it as well. I think I first enjoyed the amazement that I was able to create things that people actually liked! Took a while to accept the term artist, but I eventually accepted digital artist with pride!

After 911 I decided, since we did not know how long we were going to be here, I was going to follow my dream of setting up a Judaic eCard club. Not being religious this was a stretch, but I plugged along. I was/am blessed to have a friend who IS religious and she was able to guide me. But... I HAD great difficulty coming up with the words and even some ideas. The images were ok, but I was lost when it came to the words as I came from a VERY dysfunctional family and I DID NOT have much to draw from -- that was good, that is. Much negative was stored, but very little positive!

FINALLY, at my lowest moment I discovered Tony Robbins via a late-night infomercial. I wish I would have found him many years ago as my life would have been so much different, but... as Tony says *Your past does not equal your future!* This was a life-changing statement for me. I unloaded lots of heavy baggage the first time I heard it.

MY POINT... AFTER... I started doing *Personal Power Classic* with *Get The Edge* I found that *my artistic side* was blossoming. I could look at almost anything and be artistic about it: Even a crack in the sidewalk inspired me - literally!

BEFORE... Tony Robbins I did realize that my creativity was inspired by *my deep emotions and compassion for others.* But AFTER, I worked with Tony's programs... I embraced this fact!

Now... I am able to draw/pull ideas from my emotions daily if need be. IF I am scared, then I realize that others are feeling as I do or will or have, or know someone who is at that moment. IF I am glad, then the same applies. I draw from all of this when I design.

I can't really draw much with pencil and paper, but I have learned that I can draw a few simple things where before I would not have even tried. Mostly my art is created digitally using Photoshop, filters, plugins, images, etc. etc. I design from scratch or using other images and manipulating them *most of the time* into something that does not resemble what I started out with. For example, I have learned that even bad digital images can turn out to be beauties.

I started to write this in response to the original thread, but am not sure I hit the mark.

But I will say, that artistic creativity comes in many flavors and I find my biggest inspiration *everyday life!* (whether good, bad or ugly)

NOW... if I can support myself with all of this that would be the ultimate prize!

My card site is at:
Graphics Schmaphics Exclusive Judaic Greetings
http://www.GraphicsSchmaphicsExclusive.com
SHORTER URL: http://www.GSExclusive.com

Hope this saga helps in some way. I have far from reached my goal, but I am light years away from where I was. I have Tony's programs to thank for that. Like he says: *I did the work, but he... provided the tools and the support!*

I guess after all of this I am trying to say... IF you can somehow introduce your clients to their artistic side, the rest might take care of itself as they discover that they really do have talent -- drawing, writing, helping others, etc.

I am in NYC and have gone to the National Stationery Show for the past three years or so. Just walking around there and seeing what some call art is inspiring. There seems to be a market for almost anything!

Roz View: In Memory of William J. Bell...

William J. Bell is the Legendary Creator of my two favorite CBS daytime soap operas "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful." I almost fell off the chair when I saw the memorial message a short time ago.)

Mr. Bell died Friday, April 29, 2005 at the age of 78 of complications due to Alzheimer's Disease.

After the initial shock, my first thoughts were: "How many more will we lose to this horrible disease. Why can't they find a cure! Is this what the rest of us have to look forward to IF we are unlucky enough to get Alzheimers." At least, Mr. Bell and former President Ronald Reagan had loving families. What about the rest of us who may not have the loving support system available to us! What will become of us!

I have been watching The Young and The Restless for more years than I can remember. My mother died in 1976. I remember a time before her death when she and I were talking about Mrs. Chancellor's husband being buried on the Chancellor estate. The conversation seemed so real to my father that he asked who we were talking about. When we told him we were talking about soap characters he looked at both of us as if we had just gone around the bend! (Isn't it funny the things we remember. It is as vivid to me as if it happened not five minutes ago.

Read the official story on the CBS website.

My heart-felt condolences go out to the Bell family as well as all the fans of The Young and The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful!

Roz View: Today's Buzz — AnnieJenningsPR.com Teleseminars

It's not a coincidence that today's AnnieJenningsPR.com teleseminar was on the technique of Buzz, creating Buzz, how to use Buzz and not abuse Buzz — among many other tidbits Annie Jennings shared with the teleseminar's attendees.

The seminar was so informative, exciting and motivational it was not five minutes after it ended I was on the phone congratulating Annie on yet another fabulous teleseminar topic. Annie's energy is contagious as her voice flows through the phone lines. I was so excited, I wanted her to hear the passion and excitement the seminar ignited within me. I am positive others felt the same, but I wanted to be the first to share my feelings with her.

AnnieJenningsPR.com offers two free teleseminars most weeks throughout the year. They are hosted by Annie Jennings / AnnieJenningsPR.com and moderated by Radio Host and Media Trainer Tony Trupiano of Effective Media Training. Industry leaders in their specific areas of expertise are often guest speakers. The teleseminars take place on:

The teleseminars are free except for any long distance phone charges you may incur. With today's unlimited long distance phone packages there is no reason why everyone cannot attend.

As silly as this sounds, I can honestly say that many doors opened for me and my life changed when I signed up for an unlimited long distance phone package. I can now pick up the phone on whim and not worry about humongous phone charges as my phone bill is the same each month.

My point in commenting on the unlimited phone packages is to share how easy it is to attend these teleseminars and others being offered on a weekly basis with experts like Annie Jennings and Tony Trupiano.

Roz View: My Favorite Time of the Year!

Call me crazy, but Sunday begins my favorite time of year. I love:

  • the longer days and nights
  • being able to start my days off with long walks and quiet time alone, away from the phones and computers, in preparation of the day to come
  • being able to take time to count my blessings and be grateful while walking mindlessly enjoying nature's beauty
  • always on the lookout for colorfully unique objects to photograph for my greeting card designs
  • rejuvenating from the day's happenings with late afternoon walks or after dinner strolls
I've been on the hunt for the right picture ever since I watched a squirrel eating french fries out of a McDonald's paper bag almost two years ago. Unfortunately for me I had a cheapy camera and all I got was blur! Well... I can hope, can't I?

It's just a great time to be alive!

Roz View: Where is Roz? ReCycling with FreeCycle Bronx NY!

While I have much to be grateful for, I am not immune to the financial challenges many are experiencing today. Because of this, I believe I have become more aware and compassionate toward other's struggles and try to help when I can.

My opportunity to make a difference came about 9 weeks ago when I took on the volunteer position to Lead the Bronx, New York Chapter of the FreeCycle.org(TM) Network — FreeCycleBronxNY.

Any new venture takes time and some take on a life of their own until everyone settles in and things settle down. While my involvement is time-consuming many aspects are fun as it enables me to schmooze more with the public and the media as I spread the word about the organization. This is the fun part for me as I like people and while I am outgoing normally this makes me even more so and I believe this will help me in my other endeavors.

Roz View: Press Snaffus — Lemons to Lemonaide in 60 Minutes or Less

In this day and age, with everyone multi- multi- multi-tasking... “Things happen!”

Having experienced a number of Press snafus I would like to share some tips on quick recovery. (Keep in mind this will only work if you have a web presence and have access to it!)

  • If your name, business name or physical business address is incorrect...
    • quickly add the misspelling/inaccuracies to your website
    • Add them to the website title
    • Add them to the Meta Keyword section of the site
    • Quickly resubmit your website to the search engines.

NOTE: It could take from 12-72 hours for the redirect to show up. In my experience it could happen in much less time, but it's anyone's guess what will really happen as far as this goes as it has to propagate around the Internet. As well... while the domain name makes its way around the web it will become visible to more and more people! Generally it would be good if you could contact someone else to see if they can see your site, even if you cannot.

  • If your website address/website URL is incorrect
    • Run, don't walk to the nearest “domain registrar” and purchase the misspelled/incorrect URL.
    • Point/redirect this URL to your website address — this way when people type in the incorrect URL they will immediately be taken to the proper website.
    • If your web hosting package permits, you can also “Park” the incorrect URL “on-top-of” the correct URL. Here too, when the incorrect URL is typed in, it will take you to the correct domain address.

NOTE: The same thing applies here as far as propagating around the web!
I would do all of this “before” contacting the Press. In some cases they will do a follow-up with the correct information, however, nine times out of ten it will be too late. You need to do damage control “as soon as you find out” there is a problem! To do any of the above should not take more than about a hour IF you have control over your website and know how to make simple HTML changes.

Roz View: Inspiration or What: Martha Stewart Coming Home Poncho

Only in America! Anything is possible and inspiration can be found everywhere!

Being a knitter (and crocheter) from way back, I took notice of the lovely poncho Martha Stewart wore on her return home. While I admired it, I did not give it further thought until a friend told me about the hoopla going on on eBay. Being naturally curious, I surfed on over to have a look!

After visiting a variety of auctions I was curious as to how to create the poncho. Google to the rescue! I found Lion Brand Yarns is offering a free download of the instructions for the Coming Home Poncho right on their website.

At this time a free download for the crochet version of the Martha Steward Coming Home Poncho can be downloaded here.

Lion Brand says that a free knitted version will be available in about a week. I am not sure when that was written, so for all I know it could be tomorrow. Check it out!

And... Yes, I "did" download it and can clearly visualize it in a lovely denim yarn to wear when I am walking!

On a more positive side...

It is interesting and rather inspiringly spiritual to know that people are so forgiving. It makes one want to grab on and push forward, no matter how many past disappointments came before.

Go get'im Martha, Welcome Home!

Roz View: Joyce Meyer on Larry King 2/17/2005

PERSONAL TESTIMONIAL: Joyce Meyer is one of my favorite TV Pastors. I found Joyce at the time I was working through my very first Tony Robbins program... Get The Edge. I have been a loyal fan ever since. It seems more than coincidence, kind of like a divine intervention takes over as each time I tune in it feels like Joyce is talking directly to me.

Joyce is one of the most caring and generous people I have come across in a very long time — if ever... really! I never saw anyone on TV (or anyplace else) offer teaching materials (or anything else) for a gift of *any* amount.

Normally... IF you do not have the money to pay for something, you just don't get it! It is that simple!

From time to time Joyce Meyer Ministries offers a package of teaching materials for a donation/gift of "any" amount. The first time I heard that, it took a good long time for it to sink in. I just could not believe my good fortunate as I am going through a financial challenge at this time. I am used to not being able to participate IF/when I don't have the money to spare.

I am blessed to say that I have been privileged a few times to have received Joyce Meyer teaching materials for a small donation. It's so small it might as well be free! To me... It was a "blessing from G_d!"

I am pleased to pass on the news that...
Joyce Meyer will be appearing on Larry King Live, Thursday, February 17, at 9:00 PM EST.

I encourage you to watch yourself and tell your friends and relatives about this excellent opportunity to hear the powerful life-changing messages Joyce delivers.

NOTE: While Joyce is a Born Again Pastor, what she shares relates to what most of us go through each and every day — whether we are Christians or not. As a Jewish woman I relate to a lot of what Joyce talks about. I would encourage you to watch her as she is normally To hear Joyce Meyer... Tune in to Larry King Live

Time: 9:00 PM EST
When: Thursday, February 17
Where: CNN

REMEMBER... You can hear Joyce 24/7. She is there in your darkest and brightest moments. Visit Joyce Meyer Ministries http://www.JoyceMeyer.com. There are at least one-month of Joyce's daily teachings on the site. Joyce Meyer is an exceptional individual. I pray that God blesses her and her family every minute of every day. When I count my blessings a staple is Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen and Tony Robbins.

Roz Views: Giving Gifts... Appropriately!

This subject is near and dear to my heart and I believe it is important enough to mention here!

For many people showing appreciation and love is demonstrated by giving gifts. Unfortunately the sentiment is often lost as the giver does not take the time to know their recipient enough to know what really makes them happy. For me... it takes very little to make me happy, but I am not happy with everything.

If you are reading this, please give it a little thought the next time you plan on giving a gift — whether to a loved one or an acquaintance. Obviously you care enough to do something, create instant memories by caring enough to take a few moments to know your recipient's needs and desires! This will go a long way as opposed to giving an unwanted or inappropriate gift!

REVIEW: Linksys Tech Support...

I am so excited! I am finally set up ... wirelessly broadband! Two of my three computers are now set up with lightening fast Internet access via Cable TV's Optimum Online service.

Earlier (more like the middle of the night) I could not sleep and decided to do something productive and set up my wireless router and network card. Actually I was going to do just the card, but...

REVIEW: Staples Easy Rebates... IS Easy!

Staples has been advertising their “Staples Easy Rebates” at:

https://www.stapleseasyrebates.com/img/staples/paperless/pages/Landing.html

all over the place. Well, I am here to tell you “it REALLY is” easy!

I am shamed to say I am one of those people who buys things on rebate and then ultimately waits until “the last moment” to send them in. I vow each and every time I will change, but to date it has not happened! Considering I am on a mission to eliminate unnecessary stress in my life, you would think I would have changed this behavior by now.

ROZ VIEW: WebPosition Gold / Platinum

Sometimes I just can't contain my excitement when I use WebPosition Gold and it just does exactly “what I need,” “when I need it” — RIGHT NOW / YESTERDAY!!! This alleviates all the stress, frustration and time wasted from days of old. The memories of the all nighters with limited success in completing submissions are still vivid in my mind's eye! I just had to share this “right now!” A more indepth review will follow shortly...

To me... WebPosition Gold and/or Platinum is the best thing since sliced bread... even more of a comparison would be to “breathing” when it comes to Search Engine Submission. This might seem a bit dramatic, however, IF you have ever hand submitted your web pages and/or web sites to the search engines you know what I mean. The memories of the all nighters filling out endless multiple forms and the endless submitting are still very vivid to me. (I realize I may be repeating myself, however, it IS deliberate... I cannot say this often enough as it was that distasteful — at least to me!)

Quite simply... I just made a major change on two of my pages and in a few minutes (less than 5) I was able to resubmit the pages to all the engines accommodated within the program! True... it “could possibly” take some time for them to be reindexed, however, I highly doubt that since the pages are already in the engines. But... even if they did have to wait for the spiders to surf on over, the time I saved by submitting via WebPosition saved me hours/days of wasting my precious time.

NEVER FORGET: WebPosition Gold is NOT magic. One MUST still optimize their web pages /web sites to be “search-engine friendly,” but... IF your pages are setup correctly, it IS only a matter of time before the floodgates of visitors will come pouring in.

Please remember, this is just a brief intro. Don't take my word for it...

Try out WebPosition for yourself.

FREE Telesemnars: “If we listen, it is there!”

ROZ VIEWS: In this life, nothing is given or coming to us, so we have to be clever and alert to all the opportunities we are presented with. For this reason, I have learned that information is all around us — no matter where we are or who we are talking to. “IF we listen, it is there!”

My “unlimited long distance telephone package” affords me the luxury of attending as many teleseminars as I have time for. I have found this most educational and a fabulous way to network and share information with others. I have found... “even if” the subject is not exactly in my focus area there is always some gem (of information) tucked away in the conversation.

My new slogan for 2005: “If we listen, it is there!”

FREE Teleseminar / Web Seminar — With Tony Robbins (Wed. 1/19/2005)

PERSONAL TESTIMONIAL: I am delighted that Tony Robbins will be hosting this web chat himself. I plan to be there with bells on!

Personally... I have completed his “Get The Edge,” “Personal Power II” and “Time of Your Life!” I consider myself “a work in progress” so will be redoing “Time of Your Life” next week. It took me almost until the end of the program to figure out how to fix my life. NOT because Tony did not tell me how, but... because it took me years to get myself into the mess I am in and I could not even imagine how to fix it!” NOW... I know, thanks to Anthony Robbins! What is left IS... FOR ME to... DO IT! (Tony has done for me what no one else would. He helped me to get my life back — via his tools and his kindness and generosity in sending me a “complimentary” pass to his “Unleash The Power Within” at the Meadowlands in New Jersey in November 2003. I will be forever grateful and will do whatever I can to help others as he helped me! Thank You Tony! — Roz Fruchtman/NYC

REVIEW: Business Blogging w/RPM Success Group

I think the Blogging G_d's wanted to see just how determined I was to write this review. I lost my work four times! Here goes...
Thursday evening, January 13, 2005 I was one of the privileged attendees at RPM Success Group Incorporated's “Blogging for Business” FREE Teleseminar with Coaches Deborah Cole & John-Paul Micek.

If you have ever attended one of their seminars you will agree that it is “always more” than you would expect. Unfortunately I have never attended one of their paid courses, but my feelings are: “IF they do so well and are so generous with their FREE teleseminar classes, I could only imagine that the paid courses are to die for!”

Joel Osteen: Coincidence or G_d's Test?

Earlier this morning I wrote an entry about Pastor Joel Osteen. Now if this is not a coincidence I don't know what is...

Joel was saying that no matter what happens we should not let it steal our joy and agonize over it for the rest of the day...

Each Sunday morning I tape his sermons on a hand-held tape recorder. When I need encouragement or support I relisten to them. Other times, I just listen for the enjoyment of it. In any case, it has become a habit and one that I look forward to as Sunday draws near.

This morning I misplaced my TV listing so I had to flick through the channels. I've been noticing the Cable TV stations start a few minutes before the half hour, so I kept coming in after the program started. Therefore, I never could get the beginning — and I wanted to — because Joel always starts the sermon off with a joke.

Finally... I tuned in at the beginning of the 9:00AM segment on Channel 5 — in NYC. They start promptly on the half hour.

This is where things get good...
The tape recorder seemed to be working fine, however, in the middle of the sermon I noticed the amber light flickering wildly. This light indicates the battery is either going or gone. You got it... The battery was gone and I lost half the sermon. Good thing Joel is on at Midnight, so I will catch that one in its entirety — With “brand new” batteries!

In case you were wondering what I did when I noticed this, I smiled and said: “It figures!” This was just what Joel was preaching about! I guess... G_d was either playing a little trick on me or testing to see if I learned anything!(big smile)

NOTE: I think I will make it a habit to always use NEW BATTERIES!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Joel Osten: My Sunday Morning Shot of Spirituality

Sunday morning is like a shot of spirituality for me as I listen to Pastor Joel Osteen http://www.JoelOsteen.com on TV. I have actually taken to following him from channel to channel for about two hours. By the time I get done, I have heard his sermon at the least three or four times. As if this were not enough, I haven taken to taping the sermons on a hand-held taperecorder so that I may listen to it over and over again as I need encouragement and support. As crazy as this sounds, it works! I have learned, in this life we have to depend on ourselves to provide our joy, we can't depend on others to make us happy! I have learned to provide the joy and encouragement I need for myself and not depend on others to do it for me. This way... there is never any disappointment -- or hardly ever!

Today Joel spoke about not letting others steal our joy. He talked about making a conscious decision to not let anything, no matter what steal our joy and prevent us from being happy. Considering I used to be the type of person who let other's behavior dictate how I felt this was a sermon that really hit home. While I won't say I never get upset — afterall I am a human being — I will say that I have learned to NOT stay upset. I can usually catch myself before I am not too far along. In today's sermon Joel reminded me to keep on keeping on.

Check out Pastor Osteen at: http://www.JoelOsteen.com. Go here to check and see if Joel is on a TV Station near you. Click on your state in the map and the TV listing will appear on the bottom of the page.

Enjoy!

Stuck in Between 2004 & 2005...

For me... the New Year started off a bit disjointed. For the first time ever, I fell asleep “right before” 2005 was traditionally welcomed in by the Ball dropping in New York City's Times Square.

It seemed like one minute I was watching TV — 10:45 PM Friday December 31, 2004 — and the next minute it was 12:20 AM Saturday January 1, 2005. I awoke to my cousin's voice leaving a message on my answering machine.

I was visibly shaken and bewildered as I experienced the first pangs of disappointment of “not” bringing in the New Year in real time. I felt as if I were stuck someplace in between 2004 and 2005 and that the New Year was somehow tainted. At the same time I realized how nuts this was, but could not shake the feeling of disappointment even the next morning when I got up!

I awoke with the same feeling of disappointment on Saturday morning. I had no clue what to do, but realized there must be a video of the Ball dropping somewhere on the Internet. I began Googling every keyword phrase I could think and finally found a live video on the MSN website at: Click to welcome in New Year 2005 — Times Square, New York City.

The nice thing about this is that you can watch it as many times as you want, as well as, getting a front-row seat to see exactly what goes on.

Check it out for yourself! (IF the video does not start automatically, just click on the Ball in the right-hand panel.

I got to see General Collin Powell and New York City's Mayor Bloomberg push the globe-like switch and the multi-colored crystal ball start its sixty-second descent into 2005. It was awesome. I don't remember the ball changing colors in previous years. Did it?

As the countdown reached 10 seconds the crowd went nuts joining in the countdown. As silly as this sounds, even watching the ball drop almost 12 hours after the fact, I felt the same excitement and anticipation of the brand new year and receiving yet another chance to start over!

Happy New Year 2005!

January 01, 2005

Happy New Year 2005!!!

Quite simply... Happy New Year 2005!

May you receive all that you desire for yourself and your loved ones and bring all your dreams to fruition!

May 2005 be your best year ever!

New Year 2005 — Wishes and Preparations

RE: Time Of Your Life — Anthony Robbins

I am feeling a bit guilty that I am not writing daily as I had gotten used to, but I see that many are on hiatus for the holidays and I am taking this time to prepare myself for the upcoming year.

I have two days/sessions left to do of the ten-day Anthony Robbins “Time Of Your Life” time management program. The concept is excellent, but this one has given me a bit more trouble than the two others I completed. But, I AM worth the effort and that is keeping me motivated.

Although I started over a million times as I could not get past tape 4, I promised myself I WOULD complete this before the ball drops in NYC ringing in 2005. (I start Day #9 later on today!)

On the other hand, I do believe I will have to go through the program yet again, but... I will go through in a stronger — happier, more productive — frame of mind and position! After all I AM worth it, or did I say that before! You see... I have to keep telling myself this in order to get through. I can honestly say though... “it IS worth every bit of effort I am putting in to it. Tony keeps saying that the assignment exercises take about 5-10 minutes, but I am “still” writing about an hour later. Why? I am brutally honest with myself! IF I can't be honest with myself, who can I be honest with?

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, Safe and Prosperous New Year 2005.

End of the Year Blessing!

As the end of the year draws near, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous holiday season.

I hope you will join me in looking to the New Year 2005 with great enthusiasm and expectations.

I plan to take a few days off, but will be back soon.

Roz's 2004 Favorites...

Stay tuned for my 2004 favorites!

I consider myself blessed to have been able to form lasting personal and business relationships within my focus area — web and graphic development. It's been my privilege and I would like to formerly say “thank you!”

As well... Things started to look up when:

  • I changed the way I access the Internet
  • I got rid of my second phone (the computer phone), and
  • I changed my telephone service provider!
Who would have believed that all of this would have changed my life so much, when I... “discovered the world of TeleSeminars!”

My short list of favorites will be posted before the end of the year!

Seasonal eCards...

For those of you who know me personally, you know that my passion is designing eCards and graphics.

eBay: Half-Full/Half-Empty

Gee... I have seen everything now!

I was browsing eBay for a cologne that I used for years and could not find any longer.

I found a few that were selling it. However, it seems that most were selling “half-empty” bottles. (There is nothing positive about this, I don't think “half-full” applies here!) Is there something wrong with me or what! I would never have thought to sell something that was “half-empty!” Hmm, something to think about!

I would sure like to here comments on this one!

Happy Thanksgiving to All

I want to take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you visiting Blog Views By Roz a “Happy & Healthy Thanksgiving!”

This is the greatest time of the year. It's a time of endings and a time to look to new beginnings! In about five weeks or so we will be looking out at a brand new year, with so many possibilities. It will be a time to start over and build on the successes of 2004.

I vividly remember how I felt on New Year's Eve 2002. I felt as if I had been reborn. I never felt that way before and it was glorious — it was a feeling I wish I could package and give as gifts! Although nothing changed in my day-to-day life, I felt as if nothing mattered, ONLY the fact that I WAS still here. WE WERE ALL STILL HERE!

Roz on "Get The Edge" by Tony Robbins

A week or two ago I posted the novella below on a self-proclaimed Tony Robbins fan site. I'm not sure why I did it, as I never visit the site and was just passing through. I believe it will do more good here than there as hardly anyone posts or reads that site. The topic was:

"HOW TONY ROBBINS INSPIRED ME!"

"You asked, I'll tell..."

ON GET THE EDGE
I was very skeptical when I ordered Get The Edge (May 2003), but being desperately in need of help, I took a chance. There was something about Tony that struck a cord with me. However, I will admit that I watched his infomercial for 5 months "before" I ordered the CDs. Mostly because I did not have the money and I felt it was dishonest to order the CDs and then send them back. (NO... I still have them!)

Free Cycle ... Round and Round It Goes!

A while back I discovered a group called Free Cycle. Free Cycle is a network which helps recycle items that one person no longer needs or wants by connecting them up with someone who needs or wants these same items. For example:

One person has a TV to throw out. They do not want to trash it as it still works, so they offer it at Free Cycle and someone else who can use it makes contact and picks it up. No money is exchanged, as everything on Free Cycle IS free! It's really interesting what is offered and what is taken. It can be as small as a partial roll of wrapping paper or energy bars to washers, dryers, computers, etc.. In this day and age a network like this is a true blessing.

To check and see if there is a Free Cycle group near you visit http://www.FreeCycle.org. Perhaps you want to start one in your town. You can do that here as well. Check it out!

STARTING NOVEMBER 1 — 25 Days of Grateful...

25 Days of Grateful!

For me and many the upcoming holiday season is greeted with an array of mixed emotions.

It occurred to me about 2 minutes ago, I could possibly make a small difference in someone else's life if I shared “at least one” of the many things I am grateful for on a daily basis. So, for the 25 days “until” Thanksgiving, Thursday November 25, 2004 I will be doing just that.

MY OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate how “even at the bleakest of times” there is always something to be grateful for!

NOTE: Although I was never really ungrateful, I became more grateful and pay tribute to it on a daily basis since I was introduced to the Anthony Robbins programs last May 2003. Tony is big on being grateful and his programs taught me to be as well. I have probably experienced my happiest times in the last 18 months because of a tiny ritual I do upon waking most days — it is rarely done later in the day — because it is easier to “build on success!”

Remedy for Momentary Discouragement...

Earlier Wednesday evening I had a momentary lapse into discouragement. Since I don't indulge myself with such luxuries, I decided to do something I enjoy — probably more than anything else — Designing eCards for my Judaic eCard Club...

Hours later, I can hardly keep my eyes open, but I now have... new cards for the Hanukkah collection as well as Birthdays, Encouragement, Thanksgiving and Love. Tired and satisfied, I will now attempt to catch a few hours sleep before I am back here again to finish up the holiday collection.

Surf on over and have a look! The site is NOT only for Jewish individuals, but anyone who has a need to send Judaic eCards to their loved ones, family and/or colleagues.

JibJab — Brothers At It Again!

I just visited the JibJab website and have to say it's the first thing that made me smile all weekend. The problem is, I can't stop smiling, I feel as if my face will freeze! Or... freeze and crack, or just crack! Ah heck! It's great, and anyone who can bring that much joy deserves the recognition!

In case you do not know who I am talking about, these are the two brothers — Gregg and Evan Spiridells — who did the Internet film “This Land.” Now you must have seen it, it was all over TV and Gregg and Evan appeared on the Jay Leno show! The film is a riot. AND... they seemed like the nicest guys!

You still do not know who or what I am talking about, ok... I'll bite! Go over to JibJab and click to view “This Land!” After you do that, view the new flick: “Good To Be In DC!” (I am not linking to the films as I want you to go over and view the site. It's worth the trip!

Good luck Greg and Evan! I am thrilled to see that you are charging for your talents. I pray that you make it as big as you want to. You two guy have the talent and should be able to live the American Dream!

Growing up at 60!

I took Friday off — the computer — to just rest, think, regroup and do some much needed reorganizing... and cleaning! However, if you were here and looked around... It does not look like I did much. But... in reality I went to sleep a happy camper, feeling as if I had been productive in the day's challenges!

What's always nice about cleaning is that I feel like I am on a treasure hunt. I find things that I misplaced and/or have not seen in a great while. Actually these treasures were just hiding — or temporarily buried — under piles of papers and books. It is always a revelation and I feel as if I were just handed a priceless gift!

It seems the older I get the less time I take for myself. I do not mean to do this, it just is and I AM NOT happy with it! As you can see... Something is wrong with this picture... AND... I am the ONLY one who can change it! It's a daily challenge, and one I feel I am winning.

Believe it or not... “I feel like I am growing up at 60!”

What A Difference A Walk Makes

Eighteen Months ago I started working with the Anthony Robbins program “Get The Edge.” One of the rituals I adopted was walking daily — preferably in the morning. Tony suggested upon rising, but that took a bit to get used to!

At first, I walked at all hours, but I found the morning was really the best! It not only started my day off “with the success” of doing something good FOR ME, it also enabled me to walk and “not” be interrupted. You do not meet many people in the morning, and if you do, they are usually there for the same reason — you just say hello and keep going!

While walking not only helped me get rid of the 20 pounds I gained after 911, it also enables me to be more “in touch with me, my feeling, creativity and nature!” A revelation for someone who never walked and drove all over! (I sold my car almost two years ago and had not used it much for the five years before! But... I was so connected to my computer, I hardly left it!)

The best part of walking is that my creative juices run wild. Something I had not experienced before. There is never a time I go walking and do not come back with a few good ideas — at the least one. When I am really stressed I find that by the time I come back from my walk I am as relaxed as a dish rag.

I now love to walk and make it my business to go at least five days a week (Monday thru Friday). Saturday and/or Sunday are “plus days!”

In summary, the added bonuses to walking are:

  • Walking feels great
  • Walking is good exercise
  • Walking gets my creative juices flowing
  • Walking creates energy
  • Walking is good for my heart
  • Walking is good for me in general
Can you tell... I'm inspired... I just came back from a walk!

Laser Surgery Update

Well, I am back. My laser surgery went well. I will find out how well when I see the opthalmologist tomorrow morning, but I do see an improvement. The true test — for me — is when I go out in the bright sunlight. I saw distortions before, hopefully they will be gone now! I will admit that I am a bit nervous!

YAG LASER SURGERY — me!

I will be gone today to have my Yag Laser Surgery redone! So I might not be posting for the next day or two.

There are three FREE seminars coming up this week (listed below in the Blog). Please give yourself the gift of attending them! OR... at least the one(s) you feel would benefit you the most!
