ROZ SAYS: December 1, A New Day, A New Beginning
It us funny how things work out sometimes... Feeling this way today, December 1, 2005 -- The first day of the last month of the year.
I have been giving my life a great deal of thought the last couple of months. It's funny... making a difference in other's lives does not always serve us. I AM talking about those times when we give so much of ourselves that it becomes detrimental to our own lives, health and well being. I am NOT talking about the times we help others out in a selfless manner, only wishing to be there for them in their time(s) of need. The two are QUITE different!
Like many others... I have been going through some changes and challenges in my life -- some my own fault, some created by outside forces -- however, it never occurred to me how much it was affecting me until I made an unexpected visit to my doctor and found my blood pressure was elevated. That elevation will come down, but it was a "wake-up" call for me. It was enough to make me sit up and take notice! I like me, I DO NOT want to do anything that will hurt me to the point of irreparable damage to my health!
Last night I went to bed a bit earlier and therefore started my day at 5AM. I was astounded how much I got down in the first two hours of the day FOR ME! Things like taking some spiritual time while cleaning the house. As well... I have fallen behind on some obligations and this makes me unhappy because I AM a person of my word.
The point of me sharing this is that it might make a difference to someone reading it and make them wake up before it is too late. WE are ONLY human beings. We CAN ONLY do so much. This multi-tasking thing is NOT ALWAYS what it is cracked up to be... UNLESS we do it in moderation and in a structured way. Routines are good! Rules are good! Having fun is good! Being good to YOURSELF ... IS ... even better! REMEMBER... Time is irreplaceable... Life only comes around ONCE!
That's it for now... I am off to see what else I can do before I tire myself out with all this "new found energy and wisdom! Normally I am not one of those who do things in moderation so this is something that will take my entire focus to achieve!
