REVIEW: Linksys Tech Support...

I am so excited! I am finally set up ... wirelessly broadband! Two of my three computers are now set up with lightening fast Internet access via Cable TV's Optimum Online service.

Earlier (more like the middle of the night) I could not sleep and decided to do something productive and set up my wireless router and network card. Actually I was going to do just the card, but...

after calling the Linksys 24/7 tech support number I was informed that the router needed to be set up first. So off I pranced into the livingroom to my desktop computer and my broadband modem. The tech led me through the step-by-step setup and within a moments I was active. (We did run into one small glitch... I needed to reboot my cable modem as some pertinent settings did not show up as expected.)

I gave Optimum Online's 24/7 tech support a quickie call, got the modem reset and was back with Linksys again. This time I got someone else. As the first tech, she was well versed and helped me complete the desktop's installation. From there we went to the laptop which is a completely wireless setup! If I did not experience this first hand I would never believe it! It's like magic!

The second tech had the patience of a saint as I suddently was hit with a "visual" migraine attack and could hardly see to set up the wireless network card's/computer's settings. With her kind support, little by little it got done and another little while later all was well. I am now have "completely wireless" Internet acccess. I feel like I died and went to Broadband heaven!

IN SUMMARY:
My recommendation goes to Linksys, which is a division of Cisco Systems, Inc. If you want superb and unlimited tech support, Linksys is the one to choose.

AS AN ASIDE:
For a short time I was waffling between Linksys and NetGear. Linksys won hands down when they told me their tech support was unlimited as opposed to NetGear's 90 days. While I am computer literate, this wireless broadband is new to me and handholding has its appeal.

Yeah Linksys!
