Day #21 of Grateful

Today “I decided” to give myself “the gift” of a stressless, happy week — something to be utterly grateful and thankful for!

Most businesses are closing early, employees are taking extra days off to spend with family and/or friends, and those who are not do not feel like doing business anyway or are working on a skeleton crew! So me... I'll wait until next week, when hopefully, everyone will be happy from eating too much turkey and/or from having done something fun!

Today's list of grateful includes:
  • I am grateful I can give myself the gift of a stressless, peaceful and happy week! (I know... others may invade this decision, but coming from a better frame of mind will make it all better!)
  • I am grateful I can look forward to Thanksgiving with the anticipation of seeing old friends and eating good food.
  • I am grateful I can also look forward to having a second Thanksgiving dinner on Friday, compliments of my friend who always sends me home with a generous doggy bag (better known as a huge baking tray) that can feed a herd!
  • Last, but not least I am grateful to be “a lot” better off this year than I was last year. It was a rough road back after 911 and last year I was just at the door of return after coming back from a weekend with Anthony Robbins at Unleash The Power Within at the Meadowlands in New Jersey!
For those who will be alone on Thanksgiving, please take the time to do something nice for yourself. It does not have to be extravagant, just something that will make YOU happy. Even:
  • sitting down with your feet up and watching TV
  • listening to music
  • surfing the web
  • reading a book
  • walking in the fresh air
  • observing the changing seasons
can make a big difference and be lots of fun and most peaceful.

Generally I do not mind being alone, I like my own company and can be very happy by myself. Of course, I like people too and am looking forward to spending time with good friends. I am blessed to have been invited and am looking forward to the day away from the computer!

Well, we are almost at the end...

Three more days to “25 Days of Grateful!” I don't mind telling you, there were days this was hard to do, but I did what needed to be done at the time... “dug deep within” to look for those blessings which were not quite so evident in the midst of the day's challenges. There was always something to grab onto! When it seemed like there were none, I looked to the fundamentals of life:
  • Being grateful for the roof over my head, the food on my table, my health, my creativity, my art, my love of nature, my friends, those I help daily through my discussion groups, etc.
If we look “hard enough,” there is always something to latch onto — in the way of blessings!

Stop by tomorrow for Day #23 of Grateful!
