Today was one of those days of mixed emotion! I worked through some of my challenges with the help of others on the web and my own stubbornness to not give in and not give up! Giving up is not in my vocabulary!

Today's list of grateful includes:
  • Now this is a biggie and it happened later on in the evening. A screw had fallen out of my desk chair and as I sat on the floor fixing it I knocked over a container of pens and pencils. As I preceded to put everything back in the container my eye roamed to what appeared to be a mouse — a dead one — at the corner of my desk. I was sure it was dead because when I turned on the flashlight it was completely still!

I quickly ran for the broom and dustpan and ran next door to my friend! I caught her as she was about to sit down to dinner! (Yuck!)

As we walked back into my apartment, she asked: “Are you sure it is dead?” I said: “Well it did not move!” By this time I was wringing my hands as she looked under the desk! What she found was... my mouse was “a spoon!”

Well you have to understand I was not wearing my contacts and my vision only goes so far without them. What I saw was the tail and hump of an “upside-down-spoon!” This appeared to be the back of a dead mouse with a “long, long” tail! I'll take a spoon anytime!

So... I AM ... “VERY GRATEFUL” that my mouse turned out to be a spoon!
  • Better yet, I am grateful that my friend came to my rescue. She could have left me alone to deal with what could have been a disgusting dilemma!
  • I am also grateful for those who helped me with my eBay selling and buying issues. Click here to find out more!
  • Last, but not least Pastor Joel Osteen's TV sermon was right on target as usual! I taped it and have already listened to it a number of times today! It's about being happy, “even if” we are not content or happy about where we are in our lives at any given time! Joel says “Happiness is a Choice!” He says: “We need to program ourselves for happiness each day!” As silly as this might sound, it works! I rather choose to be happy than walk around like the world is coming to an end in the next five minutes!
Although I look forward to Thanksgiving with anticipation, as I will be spending it with good friends, I can't help thinking of holidays past and my best friend who died almost twenty years ago — a few days before Thanksgiving. So you see... “I do” know how others feel about the holidays! That is why I chose to do the “25 Days of Grateful!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Stop by tomorrow for Day #22 of Grateful!
