Print Folders — Print List of Files

Have you ever wanted to print a list of file names from a directory? If so, you know how difficult and sometimes impossible this can be!

This program was recommended to me a short time ago. I was creating a new template for one of my websites. However, the old template had about 125 or more pages attached to it. ALL these pages had to be redone “individually” and resaved as the “original” file names.

My problem was... I could not figure out how I was going to keep track of which pages were being changed.

This little program was the ticket! It made my life so much easier and enabled me to print out the list of file names in the format I needed. As well... I was able to bring the list of file names into a text editor and enlarge the font for easy reading.

Quoted from PrintFolders website:

PrintFolders can save a list of files and folders into a plain-text (TXT) or HTML file. It can be used to catalogue MP3 music, photos, software and anything else with a single click of mouse.

PrintFolders offers three customizable output formats: HTML, plain-text and unformatted plain-text. The output files are clear and easily understandable. All you need is to choose what to include into the list, how the list will look and where it will be placed.

You can choose your print output files in either HTML, plain-text or unformatted plain-text. Visit http://www.stratopoint.com/pfolders/ to read more, see samples and download either the FREEWARE version or the paid version for only $9.95.

You can do this from a DOS prompt also. All you have to do is put in the correct info. First I like to print directorys of my MP3 collections for catologing purposes... so here is what I do. From a DOS prompt run a directory with which ever switch you want ((c:\dir/w will get you all the switches available)) then if that is what you want as a printed file just type this at the command prompt ~~ C:\>dir/b > c:\test.txt ~~ what this does is creates a file on the c drive called test.txt and the file contains the list of the directory from the c drive. Just thought I would share this with you..ElecTricBarBarElla::..
